I was proud to sponsor a youth basketball team for the 2nd Annual NAACP Youth Basketball Tournament. I enjoyed the games, food vendors and seeing all of the male volunteers who took time out of their weekend in this HOT weather to spend time with, mentor and coach these young boys. It takes a village! Thanks again to the Muncie NAACP Branch for putting together another great tournament.

After voting yesterday, I had the opportunity to go to a local school and speak to students about the election process, laws, candidates, requirements, etc. I participate in this Indiana Kids' Election Bureau program every election year. It gives me a chance to interact with local youth, discuss some important issues and meet other people in the community. Thanks to the Indiana State Bar Association for continuing to make this program available.

I was excited that the team that I sponsored came in first place in the tournament. MLK DAY WORKSHOP

I was blessed and honored to be a facilitator at the MLK workshop in my hometown again. Deandra and I spent time with some of the high school ladies and we talked and made these vision boards. They were very creative, set goals and discussed how they could improve their life. Some of the trials and situations that these girls have experienced is unfortunate, but I hope and pray they took the positive enforcement and advice to create goals and a better future for themselves. These events are always a very humbling and enjoyable (for the most part) experience for me! As long as you at least reach one, it's a success!
